— Part 1 —
Concordia, one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Hidden from the sight of many for thousands of years. Few people have ever visited this land, and few ever return. You have only heard rumors of the land. You set out to discover it and now, you hear something else could be brewing in the land of Concordia. You wonder why and set out to discover it.
People you meet are very friendly. They answer all your needs and questions but you soon realize they never talk about the surrounding area. You discover people never venture outside of the town limits and some are even afraid to.
You become friends with a couple people here and there (from side quests) and discover the reason why people don’t want to leave the town. Various monsters keep appearing and you make it your goal to fix the problem. You meet a cloaked stranger who claims they can help you out. They give you what you need to help with the monsters and he only asks for a piece of flesh in return.
—Part 2—
You awake from a dream state. The last thing you remember is talking with that strange man. You seem to have been teleported to somewhere new, and yet, it seems familiar. You venture around town and meet faces that you recognize. You ask them about the town being different and they don’t seem to understand.
You come across the cloaked stranger once again and ask him about the change in the town. He doesn’t have any more information for you. But he thanks you once again for helping. You think it is strange but soon are distracted once more when you come across a boy gossiping with some older men who look like hunters.
You talk to the hunters and they tell you about rumors of a slain dragon’s gold that is up for grabs. This peaks your interest and you set out to discover the mysterious treasure. As you begin your research you discover the treasure is actually an ancient artifact that is too powerful for any human to possess. Unfortunately the news has already spread and you must get to the treasure before someone else does.
You make your way to the treasure and find the dragon is not dead. You defeat the dragon and recover the artifact.
You awake once again. But to your relief, you seem to have just been in a daze. You check to make sure you still have the artifact but it has mysteriously disappeared. You look up and see the stranger standing a little ways off watching you. You ask him how he got there and he claims he rescued you from the dragon. You try to remember what really happened, but you find that you do remember him rescuing you and you also remember defeating the beast yourself.
—Part 3–
You travel back to the town. You recognize another change in the town as well and start to really wonder what was happening. You talk to the bartender at the tavern and he doesn’t know what you’re talking about. But does tip you in on a secret beneath the tavern’s cellar. He claims there is access to a mysterious dungeon.
You ask around town to see if anyone knows about it. They claim they never have heard of it and haven’t investigated themselves but say some crazy man at the graveyard was shouting about a key to open all secrets. He tells you he will have the key for you if you bring him a tear from the ghosts in the forest.
You reach the forest and cautiously enter the trail, not knowing what would lie ahead.
You return to the town with the tears for the man at the graveyard. You can’t seem to find him, but grave robbers are there ready to attack you and take possession of the tears. The dying words of the last robber reveal the location of their hideout, claiming you would never defeat them.
You search for the location of the cave, but cannot seem to find it anywhere, although you do come across a mysterious shack that has nothing in it but a blank piece of paper.
You return to the inn for the night.
—Part 4–
You awake to strange sounds coming from outside. You look out the window and see people hurrying about. Quickly, you run down to see what all the commotion is. Everyone rushes past you unable to answer your questions so you go to the tavern. You see the bartender going about his business.
You shake your head in an attempt to clear your mind and approach the man. He tells you that a monster has appeared in the forest every day around the same time. The monster has destroyed crops but never hurt anyone. The cloaked stranger says that no one knows where it came from or what it is. He says he will give you a handsome reward for helping the town out. You agree.
You investigate where the monster was said to appear every day. You see tracks and follow them to a cave. Cautiously you enter, but what you find shocks you even more. Suddenly you start to feel weak and pass out.
You awake inside the cave. But in a completely new area. A shadow is cowering in the corner and the weak voice of a man greets you. His accent was strange and thick, making it even harder to hear and understand. You managed to make out that the guy needed some help. But he asked for some strange materials. He threatened to never show you how to get out of there and so you agree.
You travel deep into the dungeon and recover the goods. After returning them to the man, he finally admits he has been cursed. He explains how he was cursed in the first place and begs you to make it stop. He tells you about the secret of the tavern’s cellar and that it holds more secrets than everyone imagines.
—Part 5–
After finding your way back to the town, you notice a slight change again. This time you say nothing. You look around for the cloaked stranger but once again he mysteriously disappeared. You’ve become accustomed to things being strange and begin to wonder if nothing really was strange. You feel yourself begin to settle with the strange facts of life.
You try to clear your head by heading out to fish. You talk to the local fisherman to lend you a spare rod. He asks you to bring him back some of your catch. You happen upon a small island you have never seen before. You explore the island and find a tattered book written in a different language that you can’t understand. You debate on leaving the book and returning back to your home where things were less crazy. Eventually you decide to take the book. But leaving was definitely the plan.
You deliver the fish and decide to grab provisions before you leave. After visiting the local shops, you stop by the tavern one more time to get another one of the famous ales.
You ask the bartender if anyone has unlocked the dungeon beneath his cellar and he looks at you strangely and asks if you’ve had too many drinks already. He offers you something to sober up. You leave the bar very confused. You head to the docks to sail home because you’ve had enough. You talk to the captain of the ship and he agrees to let you travel with them. You head to your cabin for the night.
—Part 6–
You awaken and find the boat has anchored. You make your way to the deck and find yourself back in Concordia. You look around for the captain but he isn’t around and none of the sailors are very helpful.
You ask if any of them are sailing soon because you really feel the urge to get out of there now. They don’t answer with anything useful again. You wander around town and find the cloaked stranger once again. You tell him about all the strange things, including finding the blank paper, the dead end the grave robbers sent you on, things disappearing from your possession, even your two different memories. You don’t know why you start saying all of this.
The stranger doesn’t say very much. But he comforts you, saying he can help you make sense of things. He gives you a mysterious potion and tells you to drink it. Then take the blank paper and mysterious book to the local magic shop. He tells you to ask for ___ and say a secret code.
You decide anything is worth trying. You drink the potion and it gives you a strange feeling. But soon disappears. You do as the stranger told you and the man says to return with a few ingredients for him. As he is in the process of translating the book, you begin to feel very sleepy.
—Part 7–
You awaken once more and you realize you’ve slept for several hours. You find the book has been placed in your belongings. You look for the man who translated it for you to thank him, but he is gone.
You open the book and find that it is a diary of someone who had been there previously. At first it’s hard to understand because it seems as if two different people are writing in the book at the same time.
You find that these people were trapped in the same area as you and that one day they woke up in a peaceful calm area the next it was chaos and monsters. Things start making sense the more you read the diary. You went around the town and asked a couple friends a few questions to see which world you are in. Everything seems calm.
Everyone you ask about the different worlds, knows nothing about it and thinks you have had too many drinks. You show your closest friend the diary and he points out the mention of a temple and drinking of a magical water. He says maybe that will help. He gives you supplies and sends you on your way.
Unfortunately you have to travel to a new area. Further than anywhere you have ventured before. A tiny path leads you to the end of Concordia and into the unknown.
—Part 8–
You explore this new land as far as the path takes you. Then follow the map inside the journal that marks where the mysterious fountain lays. You fight off wild creatures on your way there and discover a few caves with loot that could come in handy.
You reach the area of the fountain, but don’t see it anywhere or even the trace of it. You read the journal again and notice a key had fallen into your inventory. You look for a place to put the key in. You finally find the door and open it. You enter the dark passageway and the door closes behind you with no way out.
You venture into what looks to be a tomb. You notice a grave marked with the name of the person in the journal you are holding. You shudder and keep going.
You open several doors and run into cursed skeletons until finally you find the fountain. You see the cloaked stranger standing there. You approach him and he begins to laugh. He congratulated you on finding your way there. He reveals to you how he had manipulated you and everyone in the “pathetic” town. He said he was in control of everything, even your life. He indicated that the people before him had also come to the fate that you were about to.
He reveals that he was the crazy man in the graveyard. He said he was the bartender. He even said he was the cursed man in the cave. And now it was time for him to meet your fate.
You fight all the different forms of the cloaked man and become victorious. A door opens and you and you exit the dungeon. You go above ground to find that you are inside the tavern cellar. everything has changed once more and you see a man you didn’t recognize. He spots you right away and thanks you.
He introduces himself as the mayor and tells you that you had freed the land from the curse. He explained how he was controlled by the cloaked stranger. He says he was turned into an animal so he couldn’t do anything. He offers you anything you want in return for helping.
